What is so special about

Turquoise?

Turquoise radiates the peace, calm and tranquility of blue and the balance and growth of green with the uplifting energy of yellow. It is believed to provide not only protection from any negativity, but also a clear connection to the purity of natural elements, especially water and air.

The water energy in turquoise gems are thought to facilitate a better flow of energy in one's body, thus promoting a gentle detoxification and improving the state of one's immune system.

Turquoise is also believed to help one receive higher guidance and direction, as well as live life with more joy and happiness. The calming and uplifting color of turquoise recharges our spirits during times of mental stress and tiredness, alleviating the feeling of loneliness. Many EDSers at one point in their journey have felt alone. EDSers United is here to remind everyone affected by Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome that they are not alone.

Turquoise is believed to encourage inner healing through its ability to enhance empathy and caring. It is thought to heighten our intuitive ability and open the door to spiritual growth. Many cultures believe that Turquoise is the color of the evolved soul.

Many EDSers have been put down because of disbelief of their struggle and ailments. This belittlement so many EDSers have had to endure from strangers, loved ones, health care professionals, etc. can really take a toll on an EDSer's self-esteem, self-worth, and emotional well-being. EDSers United is here to help re-build any lost self-esteems and encourage self-worth in every EDSer. History of Turquoise

Legend has it that the Native American Indians danced and rejoiced when the rains came. Their tears of joy mixed with the rain and seeped into Mother Earth to become the Sky Stone Turquoise.

Turquoise, the "fallen sky stone" hidden in Mother Earth, has been valued by cultures for its beauty and reputed spiritual and life-giving qualities for over 7000 years. It is a true gem of the centuries. A long time ago someone noticed a clear blue line running through gray rock, and saw the imagery of sky and water in stone, and from that time on, turquoise has been cherished above all else in creation - turquoise, stone of sky, stone of water, stone of blessings, good fortune, protection, good health and long life.

Native Americans believe that the earth is alive and that all things, no matter how small or apparently inanimate, are precious. To the Native Americans, turquoise is life. There are stone medicine men that keep turquoise gems in their sacred bundles because they believe that these gems possess powers of healing. Turquoise, especially, is valued for its positive healing energy, an aid in mental functions, communications and expression and as a protector.

If you're wearing a turquoise ring and you look down and see a crack in your stone, the Native Americans would say "the stone took it," meaning the stone took the blow that you would have received.
